Bhaktivedanta Hospital & Research Institute’s Institute of Nursing Education is recognised by the Maharashtra Nursing Council, the Indian Nursing Council and Maharashtra State Board of Nursing & Paramedical Education (MSBNPE).The Institutes vision is to provide quality nurses with spiritual vision to the society.
Every year the faculty and staff members look out for newer ideas to improve the quality of nursing education. Students are empowered with values and modern healthcare nursing practices in order to serve and discharge their duties with care, compassion, commitment and competence. To meet the ever increasing demand for well-qualified trained nurses in India and abroad, the Institute runs General Nursing & Midwifery Diploma Course (G.N.M.) since the year 2005 and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course (P.B.B.Sc.) since the year 2009 till 2017.
In June 2014 the Institute was awarded the ‘Excellence in Nursing Education’ award for providing quality nursing education on par with international standards, and focused on varied nursing situations and practical training. The award was given by Indus Foundation, USA in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA), Government of Telangana and A.P. Federation of Commerce & Industries at Hyderabad.
Teaching Methodology
- 1.
Techniques like lecture, demonstration power point presentation, Role Play, Street Play.
- 2.
Students are taught practical procedures in the spacious advance, modern Nursing laboratory with mannequins, models and audio visual aids imported from German and USA Computer Lab.
- 3.
To gain expert competencies in clinical practice students are provided speciality clinical experience through Bhaktivedanta Hospital & Research Institute and in collaboration with other esteemed Medical Institutions such as KEM and Sheth GS Medical College,Mumbai,Bai Jerbai Hospital for Children,Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital, Mira Bhyander Municipal Corporation,Kasturba Hospital,Regional Mental Hospital,Thane,Dr.R.N.Cooper Municipal General Hospital,Shatabdi Hospital.

The digital hi-tech library housing more than 3000 medical and non-medical books along with National and International Journals aids in the learning process.

Research Activity, Presentation And Publication
As a part of curriculum,every year nursing students conduct nursing research on various topics. Recently Dr.Mrs.Bhadrapriya S.Parab, Principal, Conducted,presented and published Research Paper at National and International Level, on Impact of specially devised intervention package on quality of life among senior citizens in slum areas of Thane District: An Experimental Field Trial.
Our nursing students and teachers rendered active and enthusiastic services for the well-being of urban and rural community such as

- Eye camp
- School health programme
- Health education
- Celebration of World Health Days
- Conducting National Health Programmes
Every year financial support has been provided to economically backward and needy students from

As a holistic approach a special subject “Spiritual Care in Nursing” is taught along with Nursing curriculum to refine student’s soft skills like empathy, compassionate patient care, effective communication and for self-realization.
