Overview

The Artificial Kidney Dialysis (AKD) Unit at Bhaktivedanta Hospital & Research Institute is an inseparable part of the Department of Nephrology. Well-equipped with technologically advanced dialysis equipment and state-of-the-art reverse osmosis plant for water purification the Unit caters to Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis patients. At all times well-trained, experienced dialysis technicians and nurses attend to patients under the supervision of a Resident Medical Officer.


 


The 11-bedded AKD Unit is operational in 3 to 5 Dialysis Shifts from 7:00 am - 11:00 pm (Monday to Saturday including public holidays). In case of emergency, patients can avail dialysis facility at the Emergency Room under the supervision of on duty Emergency Medical Officer. Bedside Haemodialysis facility is available for critically ill patients in the well-equipped and well-manned Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Intensive Cardiac Care Unit (ICCU).


 


Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana is available for Maintenance Haemodialysis. Eligible patients registered under this government scheme are given free Maintenance Dialysis treatment.


 


Spiritual Care Services are offered to patients undergoing dialysis to help improve their quality of life.
